Do you think the Shining Path was really working for the people?

No, I don't think the Shining Path was working for the people. If they had, they wouldn't have ruthlessly killed the people or force them to join their terrorist group. During this time in Peru, the cities and government were extremely corrupt. If they truly wanted to help them, they would have used peace not violence to solve the problems that destroyed the community.

I don't think the Shining Path was working for the people because they used violence to make changes but that only made things worse. They were cruel and killed innocent people for no reason so I don't think that by using terror that they did anything. Because of the Shining Path's activites there were soldiers stationed everywhere which only added to the violence and problems within Peru.

This book sounds really interesting! I believe the Shining Path is still active in Peru today. I'll have to put this book on my list!
