I think Magda was murdered because she was making progress by herself and not working with the Shining Path. If she had opened a health clinic that was controlled by the Shining Path I don't think she would have been killed.
I think that Magda was murdered becuause she was one of the founders of the Cesip Hospital, along with Dr. Pablo. Recently, she had been having problems with a number of people complaining that the hospital should be controlled and monitered by the Shining Path; they also thought that Magda as well as the rest of the doctors should not give medical attention to the children of Salvador. Since Magda did not listen to the complaints of some people, they got frustrated as well as angry and killed her; the people probably thought that murdering Magda would solve the problem.
